Donald Altenburg, PA-C earned his degree and served his residency at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Myers, FL. His specialty is neurology with particular interest in headaches, sleep medicine, and Botox injections for migraines.
Donald has always had a fascination with the human mind and how it works. He says, “The mind is amazing and interconnected with everything we do.” He chose his career in neurology to better understand how diseases affect the brain and learn ways to combat those conditions. “What better place to expand my clinic knowledge of the mind than the Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology?” he reflects.
With over a decade in practice, Donald has used his knowledge to bring solutions and relief to his patients. He finds great joy in the transformation of a patient from their first visit to post-treatment follow-ups, witnessing smiles and many positive stories depicting how they have gotten their lives back.
Good overall health is a family initiative with Donald, his wife, and four children. They focus on diet (everything in moderation, increasingly plant-based, gluten-free), sleep (striving for 7-8 hours nightly), and stress management (regular exercise, practicing faith, playing with their puppy).
Away from the clinic, Donald enjoys sports, hiking, golfing, boating, and fishing. He is also an avid DIY-er, often delving into projects such as beds, fences, bathroom remodels, flooring, and raised garden beds.
