Denijal Gluhic, DNP earned his doctorate degree at the University of Minnesota in adult-gerontology, which started him down his roundabout path to neurology. His healthcare journey started in dermatology and evolved to allergies and asthma. From there, he transitioned into internal medicine which provided ample, diversified learning situations. But it was the experience of a close family member battling dementia that ultimately guided Denijal to neurology, where he worked as an RN in a step-down neurology unit, a neurology ICU, and in post-anesthesia.
Denijal’s initial entry into medicine was driven by his desire to help others improve their health and well-being within a complex medical system. Family challenges and illness was the most significant factor in his decision to become a healthcare professional. In neurology, his particular interest is dementia and migraines. He can speak conversational Bosnian.
MCN is a great match for Denijal, noting that his decision was based on his “…. drive to provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care, while working in a highly collaborative team-based environment.”
When not at the clinic, you’ll find Denijal working on his home or detailing his car, or possibly playing with his yorkie pup, trying out new restaurants, and skiing in the winter.
