Anneka Boomsma, PT, DPT, is a physical therapist specializing in neurologic rehabilitation, including stroke recovery, balance disorders, fall prevention, and vestibular rehabilitation.

Anneka chose to work at the Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology because of the opportunity to serve patients in her local community and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team focused on neurological care. Having lived in Maple Grove since 2025, she is passionate about helping patients in the area improve their mobility, confidence, and quality of life through individualized physical therapy.

She chose neurologic physical therapy because of the constant opportunity for growth and adaptation during recovery. Anneka enjoys helping patients overcome challenges and reach meaningful milestones, no matter where they are in their rehabilitation journey. She believes the brain is always learning and adapting, and she encourages patients to focus on progress over time while building resilience throughout recovery. Anneka describes helping guide patients through difficult recovery journeys as one of the most rewarding parts of her work.

Anneka completed her undergraduate education at Baker College in Muskegon, Michigan, and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Findlay in Ohio.

She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and has been active in both the Michigan and Minnesota chapters.

Outside of work, Anneka enjoys cooking, baking, hiking, reading, crocheting, and spending time outdoors near the water. She also spent three years working as a travel physical therapist while living in North Carolina and Tennessee.

Her approach to health focuses on consistency and realistic habits. Anneka prioritizes strength training, running, balanced nutrition, quality sleep, and stress management. She believes exercise, healthy routines, supportive relationships, and mental health care all play an important role in overall well-being.
