Amy Swier-Vosnos, PsyD

Specializing in:
Neuropsychology

Amy Swier-Vosnos, PsyD, is a neuropsychologist at the Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology. She brings more than a decade of experience evaluating and caring for patients with complex neurological and cognitive conditions, with special interests in dementias, sleep disorders, and advanced psychometric assessment.

Dr. Swier-Vosnos earned her undergraduate degree from Calvin University and completed her doctoral training at Roosevelt University. She completed her residency at the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center, where she worked closely with patients experiencing traumatic brain injury and other neurologic conditions.

Her decision to pursue psychology began early. As a teenager working as a nurse aide in a nursing home, she became fascinated by the changes she observed in people she knew from her community. That curiosity grew into a lifelong commitment to understanding how the brain influences behavior, memory, and daily function.

Dr. Swier-Vosnos chose neuropsychology because of her passion for functional neuroanatomy and the efficiency and complexity of the human brain. She continues to be inspired by what the brain can accomplish and how individuals adapt following injury or illness.

She chose to join the Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology because of its physician-led structure, collaborative approach, and long-standing integration of neuropsychology within neurological care. She values being part of an organization that is small enough to remain nimble while offering the resources needed to support comprehensive patient care.

Outside of clinical care, Dr. Swier-Vosnos has a strong interest in nutrition, conservation, and mindfulness practices. She enjoys hiking and kayaking and has a particular fascination with elephants and cephalopods.

Her personal approach to brain health is grounded in research and daily practice. She emphasizes five key pillars that support long-term cognitive health: regular aerobic exercise, a diet aligned with the MIND diet, meaningful social engagement, ongoing mental challenges, and consistent, restorative sleep. She actively incorporates these principles into her own life, whether through walking and gardening, learning new skills, or prioritizing adequate sleep.
